Please help us spread the word about this exciting tool!

This weekend Pastor Will Pavone taught us that one of the primary ways to resist temptation is to “Remember God’s Word.” (If you weren’t able to go to MBC, you can watch the message here!) Additionally, he taught us not only to memorize scripture, but also to “internalize” it. In other words, we need to meditate on God’s word and allow it to transform our hearts.

Many of you shared your “Fighter Verses” Sunday on the Internet Campus. These are verses that you have internalized and often bring to memory when facing temptation. Here is a list of the verses discussed by the Internet Campus community. Let us know if you have any others you’d like to share by leaving a comment!

Isaiah 49:4: “But I said, “I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing. Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.”

James 1:22: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

1 Corinthians 9:27: “No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Philippians 4:13: “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

Romans 5:3-4: “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

We love catching up with each of you Sunday mornings in the Internet Campus chat room! It’s great to meet the other people that you are worshiping with from all over the world. We are always encouraged and challenged by our discussions that take place before and after each service.

Now, we’d like to encourage you to continue the dialogue throughout the week. We’ve rebuilt our online presence to foster online fellowship. We hope that you will connect with us through our blog and social networks. Here’s what to do:

1. Find us on Facebook. Click the “like” button at the top-right to receive all of our updates in your Facebook news feed. Don’t be afraid to leave updates and comments of your own!

2. Follow us on Twitter. Click the “follow” button at the top left to receive all of our “Tweets.”

3. Visit our Internet Campus Prayer Wall. You can pray for the specific requests of others who attend the Internet Campus or leave a prayer request of your own. There is no better way to build community that to pray for one another!

Our prayer is to have a vibrant online community where we can encourage and challenge each other not just on Sundays, but all throughout the week. Will you help us to make this happen?

There is exciting news for Internet Campus attenders that use the latest Android smartphones.

The newest releases of Android phones come with Adobe Flash 10.1 installed right out of the box. This means that these new devices will be able to display the McLean Bible Church and Frontline Internet Campus streams. Below is a picture of a Droid 2 displaying the Frontline Internet Campus on Sunday, August 16 (Pastor Mike Kelsey is the gentleman preaching).

Here is a list of the devices that are now being offered with Flash 10.1 already installed:

  • Motorola Droid 2
  • Motorola Droid X
  • HTC Evo
  • HTC Desire
  • HTC Incredible
  • Samsung Galaxy S
  • Motorola Milestone

If you have an earlier Android device, you may be able to still view the Internet Campus on your device. As long as you have Android 2.2 running on your mobile device, all you need to do is download  Flash 10.1 on your device and you are set!

Our prayer is that mobile streaming will be just one of the ways that we are making an impact for Christ in the DC area and around the world.

Dear Internet Campus,

We are very excited to announce that the NEW Internet Campus is almost here! Some of its new features include closed captioning, real-time user IP mapping, embedded chat, improved sermon notes and a new ultra-high bandwidth stream for full-screen and flat panel viewing.

Lord willing, June 27 will be our public launch. However, for adequate testing, we need to simulate a live Sunday service with a large pool of users. I would like to invite each of you to preview Internet Campus 2.0 this Sunday. I would also like to ask you to provide feedback and report any bugs that may have gone overlooked. Here are the instructions:

  1. For the 10:45 AM service this Sunday, use this link. The page will open 15 minutes prior to the service.
  2. For the 5:30 PM Frontline service this Sunday, use this link. The page will open 15 minutes prior to the service.
  3. Following each service, let us know what you thought by filling out this survey.
  4. Please invite as many people as you would like! Our goal is to put a large load on the servers in order to simulate a live Sunday service.

We are very excited about this new tool and our prayer is that it would be a reliable and effective way to impact secular Washington and the world with the message of Christ. Thank you in advance for lending us assistance toward that end.

In Christ,

Brandon
